One of the first things that will attract potential buyers to your home is its curb appeal. Whether they are viewing it online or doing a drive-by, the intial attractiveness of your home can determine if they want to see more. By boosting your home's curb appeal you can increase the value of your property and draw potential buyers in to see more. Here are some ideas that can be completed in a few hours but have great impact.
Snow and wind from winter can leave behind debris that make your home look dirty and dingy. Use a garden hose or a powerwasher to clean away any dirt on the front of the house, porch, walkways or driveway. A clean facade will tell buyers that your home is well taken care of right down to the smallest detail.
Declutter and prune all the planting beds or shrubs. Pull weeds and cut back any dead growth. Adding new mulch to bedding areas will give your yard a fresh punch of color. Make sure that bushes or other plantings aren't overgrown or blocking the view of the front door. Adding container plants of various sizes and colors can add a welcoming element to any entry.
Consider giving the front door a fresh coat of paint in a color that contrasts with the other exterior colors of the home. A red or yellow door can really catch the eye. Replacing all of the hardware can really update and refresh an entry. Coordinate the door handle, hinges and outdoor lighting fixtures for a sophisticated and polished look.
Ensuring that the house numbers are prominently displayed will assit buyers in locating your home. When the numbers are stylish and clean that tells them that you have taken pride in your home and they will be buying a well cared for home.
