Maintaining a home can be a lot of work and some things can often be forgotten, especially your roof. However, it is important to make sure that you keep after your roof. A bad roof will leak and cause a lot of damage if you do not replace it as soon as necessary.
Here are some signs that you need to replace your roof.
• Inside the house. You should look inside the attic for any signs of water leaking or damage. It is also important to look for any sagging spots which may be caused by any water damage. If you notice any of these, you need to get the roof inspected by a professional to see if you need to have your roof replaced.
• The shingles should be inspected. If any are curling, are broken, or missing, you are going to need to have your roof either fixed or replaced. You should also see if you have any shingles that are buckling which can be another serious problem that needs to be addressed.
• Damaged flashings. You also need to inspect flashings which are around any chimneys, skylights, or anything else that is in your roof. They can become loose and water can come in around them, causing a lot of damage.
It is very important to keep an eye on your roof and the flashing. You want to monitor your attic for any water damage. You should also try to get on your roof and check your shingles and flashing regularly to make sure that everything looks good.
