What happens when you put nine real estate agents from different firms in the same room? No, it's not a bid industry joke-especially when you consider the Marketing Masters of Anchorage.
After meeting weekly for over six years, any one of the group will tell you that the weekly meeting of these 9 agents has resulted in increased sales, better service for their clients and a stronger lobbing presence for real estate professionals and consumers. The Marketing Masters has served as a forum for the members to discuss anything from marketing strategies, to appropriate asking prices for specific listings to work on legislative matters and lobbying efforts. A quick count around the table at a recent morning meeting resulted in a tally of 213 years of combined real estate experience! In an industry where competition can be fierce, the Marketing Masters seem to go a bit against the grain with their open disclosures of coming listings and issues that arise as they are selling properties.
"We have a huge trust among us, because we're telling each other about listings that haven't even been listed yet." says Sally Nickerson of Jack White. "We saw a need for some cooperation between companies in marketing endeavors," says Bob Baer. "We can give objective feedback for a listing without competing for the listing,"
The other Marketing Masters agree that the right mix of personalities and a strong commitment to professionalism have made the group click and offer something above and beyond what they could do individually. The group can give objective feedback on a property without competing for the listing.
